About NG-CARES

The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) is a World Bank-assisted intervention designed to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the poor and vulnerable. NG-CARES supports state-level efforts to restore livelihoods, improve food security, and enhance access to basic services for individuals, households, and businesses affected by the crisis.

In Sokoto State, NG-CARES is implemented through carefully structured Delivery Platforms across various sectors, including social transfers, livelihood grants, and support to MSMEs. The programme is results-driven, with a strong focus on transparency, community engagement, and sustainable recovery. NG-CARES stands as a commitment by the government to protect the most affected populations while fostering inclusive economic growth and resilience.
